Ashes of Mossflower[link]
Okay, Ashes of Mossflower is a new fanfic I'm writing, and it's pretty much a very loose redwall/fallout crossover. You don't really have to know anything at all abbout fallout to like it, but you would get more of the references. Basically, salamandastron erupts in a supervolcanic eruption, frying pretty much everything and anybeast who couldn't find shelter underground in some way. The redwallers know ahead of time, because there are mild earthquakes and rumblings to the southwest. They have to travel to the ruins of what was once Malkariss/loamhedge, because it's the largest underground area that the redwallers have acess to.
Oh, and if you are a fallout fan, the Brotherhood of steel will be making an appearance as the remnants of the long patrol.
(Question: How are a bunch of redwallers going to get over the great sunth cliffs and across the big gorge? This is set after loamhedge, so that big tree trunk isn't there anymore. I can't really update untill I have a solution to that problem.)
Anyway, I have a sort of contest. Well, not really a contest, more of a challenge. Here it is: I want someone to draw a scene from a situation like this. Mabey a grizzled traveler, with a bunch of charred trees in the background. Something like that. Remember: if you are going to do this, when you are doing the background, think sort of a cross between an arizona desert and the aftermath of a volcanic eruption.
You know, sun parched ground, with a few blackened trees in the background. Oh, and no guns people. This is still set in the same time period as the rest of the redwall books.
